Chattanooga police are looking for a woman they say tried to hit her boyfriend with a car.

It allegedly happened on the Eastside Sunday afternoon.

50-year-old Barry Corckan told police 34-year-old Moniek Johnson tried to run him down.

He was taken to Erlanger and is expected to survive.

Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke is on a short list of Democrats who could win the Tennessee governor’s seat.

Two state Senate Democrats say Berke has a better shot at winning the job than any die-hard Republican candidates.

Others on the short list include Nashville mayor Karl Dean and Clarksville mayor Kim McMillan.

Two people were shot at the same spot in Chattanooga Friday night.

It happened on Citico Avenue just before midnight.

Both men were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening wounds. Anyone with information is asked to call the police.

An aviation company is opening a maintenance facility at the Chattanooga Airport.

West Star Aviation plans to set up operations in an existing hangar.

The company plans to start with about 50 employees and eventually hire up to 225.

A Cleveland cemetery may get its license suspended.

A recent inspection of Sunset Memorial Gardens discovered violations of public health, safety, or welfare, according to the state.

One man says he couldn’t find his father’s grave, even though his father was buried just four months before.

A complaint says many graves were unmarked, and some grave markers were just strewn around the property.

The cemetery’s owner, Cecil Lawrence, is summoned to a state hearing in Nashville this week.

The former band director at Lakeview Middle School has been found guilty of child molestation.

A jury says Thomas Harold Blevins molested a 14-year-old girl who visited his band room in 2010. He was not convicted of molesting another girl who came forward. She contradicted herself on when the molestation happened and how many times it took place.

Blevins could be sentenced to more than 100 years in prison.

The discount movie theater near Hamilton Place Mall is going to become a luxury theater.

Regal Cinemas will begin showing first-run movies in 2016. Renovations will include recliner seats, enhanced technology, and better food.

Plans are to start work next year. Part of the parking lot may also be re-developed into a restaurant.

Starting today, the Wilcox Tunnel will be closed for six months.

The city of Chattanooga is spending $2 million dollars on an upgrade including safety improvements and brighter lights.

The 83-year-old tunnel will reopen in February.

Volkswagen is recalling more than 400,000 vehicles in the U.S.

The recall includes Passat model years 2010 through 2014.

Safety officials say debris could rip a cable that may prevent front air bags from deploying in a crash.

Volkswagen says it is still developing a fix for the problem.

Troy Scot Carter was the former director of communications for the denomination.

He’s been sentenced to nearly three years in prison and must repay the money.

Splendor of Heaven was recorded at First Baptist Cleveland.

It’s been nominated for Choral Collection of the Year. The winner will be announced October 13th on TBN.
